A Time for Renewal

About a month into my journey, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting many Colorado towns including Manitou Springs, Estes Park, Boulder, Pagosa Springs, and now Durango as well as all the sweet little towns in between. I feel so fortunate to be living the gypsy life, as it’s been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. When I’m not driving and exploring I’m probably parked alongside a river somewhere just taking it all in. There is no shortage of water in Colorado, as the rivers here are beautiful and abundant!

I’m drawn to the water because of it’s calming and healing qualities. Besides seeing the world, my main focus is healing and releasing my past traumas. Until I do, I won’t be able to contribute much to the world. I wish we were all afforded an opportunity to escape real life for a while to do the healing we need to do. Trying to achieve it in ‘real time’ is undoubtedly more challenging. If you’re not able to leave your whole life behind while you van it or RV it, realistically what time can you take away from your real life so you can reevaluate and recreate?

Before driving into Durango earlier, I was exploring the little town of Pagosa Springs about an hour East of here. While soaking in the springs I enjoyed a friendly exchange with a woman who said she was a writer. Starting off as a blogger in 2011, she evolved into a writer of fiction. A family woman with two boys still in junior high and high school, she and her husband plan on RV’ing once the kids are out of the nest. One of her books is called ‘The Secrets of Lost Stones’. I love that she writes with a metaphysical twist. What inspired her writing quest was she broke her leg and couldn’t live her usual lifestyle, so she took a chance on a lifelong love of stringing sentences together, and she’s made a career out of it.

If there were ever a time to recreate ourselves it’s now. What are your long-forgotten dreams and goals, and what would have to be sacrificed in order to achieve them? For me in a nutshell, it’s committing to this blog, to producing my creations, and developing my intuitive skills. I’d need to give up my addiction to comfort and be willing to trust that my efforts will lead to success. Put myself out there, and don’t overthink it!

Where this will take me in a year or five from now, who’s to say? I’ll just enjoy the process and trust the universe to take it from there. I usually get caught up in ‘how’ it’s going to come together and what it’s gonna look like afterwards, which so often prevents me from just doing it. I get stuck in my head for aeons, with a million half-creations behind me and a million more vying to be birthed.

I can’t wait to see who we all become and what we do with this unique time in our lives. Though some challenges have arisen, it’s also the most amazing opportunity to make the changes we’ve always wanted to make.
